Meet Monisha
Hello, I'm Monisha Mitchell, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience partnering with diverse individuals seeking emotional and mental well-being. My practice offers a safe and transformative space both in-person sessions and secure teletherapy across the state of Indiana.

I hold a Bachelor's of Science from Indiana University, complemented by graduate studies in Public Management and a Master's in Social Work. This educational path, paired with 20 years of experience providing therapy to children, individuals and families, has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the human psyche, allowing me to tailor my therapeutic approach to suit each individual's needs.

I am a Hoosier born and raised but with a diverse twist. I am bi-racial and adopted at birth into an interracial family. My father is from South Asia. My mother is American. I grew up in a home where diversity was celebrated. I deeply value the diverse experiences we all bring.
As a mother of three, spanning a wide age range, I understand the complexities and challenges of parenting and family life. My personal experiences enrich my insight, enabling me to connect with clients at various life stages.
My Approach to Therapy?
I have a whole person approach to therapy, so mental health is only one aspect to optimal wellness. Our body, mind and emotions are not separate rather they are integrated. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT and Somatic Interventions, which are evidence-based interventions. Somatic Interventions assist in connecting how we feel in our body with our emotions and patterns of thinking. However, therapy isn't a one size fits all. So I will pull from a range of therapeutic interventions to find a strategy that best fits you! My goal in therapy sessions is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to share and process emotions while identifying negative patterns of thinking that keep you stuck.

Faith plays a significant role in my life. My faith teaches me to love, not judge. I am LGBTQ+ affirming. I will honor your faith tradition and incorporate faith only at your request.
